Jon Dawson

Chief People Officer, Lore Group

Jon Dawson’s transformational leadership has propelled Lore Group’s HR function, delivering strategic initiatives that have significantly enhanced employee engagement, retention, and business performance. In 2024, Lore Group, operating hotels across Europe and the US, achieved its highest engagement levels—22% above the industry benchmark—and reduced labour turnover by 14.6%, generating $1.3 million in payroll productivity savings.

Jon led a five-year HR strategy focused on cultivating an empowered, motivated workforce aligned with company values. He spearheaded a major technology transformation, consolidating 21 disparate HR and payroll systems into one global platform within 18 months—on time and on budget—streamlining processes and improving employee experiences.

His initiatives also boosted talent acquisition, with applications rising 71% year-on-year and average time-to-hire shrinking to 32 days. These efforts contributed to $1.2 million in indirect cost avoidance due to lower turnover. The enhanced profitability supported expansion, including acquiring a new hotel in New York scheduled to open in 2025.

Jon’s strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and continuous feedback loops ensured sustained progress and long-term impact. His leadership earned Lore multiple hospitality and technology awards, reinforcing the Group’s position as a forward-thinking employer.

Beyond Lore, Jon actively contributes to the HR profession as a CIPD mentor, committee member for HR in Hospitality, and honorary Executive in Residence at Sheffield Hallam University Business School.
